From Jackson-Brothers.com:
Due to changes in production of Heart of Summer, Jonathan decided to drop this project.

For all the General Hospital fans out there, this could have been the best Christmas present ever:
Jonathan was approached by GH/ABC to guest star on the Christmas show to portray young Luke Spencer - for those who don't know: the show will be a stand-alone on Dec. 23/24  to celebrate Tony Geary's 25th Anniversary as Luke Spencer (Lucky's father and therefore Jonathan's former onscreen dad) and will be a homage to A Christmas Carol with Constance Towers (Helena Cassadine) and Robert Kelker-Kelly (Stavros Cassadine) guest-starring as the Christmas ghosts (third ghost will be Tyler Christopher who plays Nikolas Cassadine on the show). UNFORTUNATELY however, Jonathan couldn't accept even though he really wanted to because he's currently filming Riding the Bullet in Vancouver, Canada. TOO BAD, I would have moved heaven and earth to see that show!

If anyone's still interested in General Hospital - check out my photos from this year's SuperSoapWeekend in Florida!

In other news, it's been now officially announced that Hilary Duff will be Jonathan's co-star in Heart of Summer. Shooting is expected to start in January, according to E! Online News. It also seems to me like they changed the location from NYC to Los Angeles...

20 november 2003

There are some more news concerning Jonathan's new project Riding the Bullet - first of all, shooting started Nov. 11 in Vancouver, Canada and is scheduled to run 'til Dec. 19, according to this website. Creature Corner also has an interesting article about the script (might be a little spoilerish) - new cast additions include Barbara Hershey as Alan's mother and George A. Romero as Alan's art teacher. If rumors are true Mr. King himself visited the set to meet cast and crew last week. How cool!

When I was in the States last week, I went to see Love, Actually and the first trailer they showed was for Havana Nights: Dirty Dancing 2 - I have to say this movie looks really good (and not just because Jonathan is in it...LOL) ...can't wait for this movie to come out :-)  -  check out the new trailer here

22 october 2003

In a recent Interview with Creature Corner, Mick Garris, director of Riding the Bullet, reveals filming to start in 3 weeks in Vancouver, Canada. This film will also star Erika Christensen as Jonathan's character Alan's girlfriend, and David Arquette plays George Staub who is one of the strangers Alan meets on his trip.

14 october 2003

OT News: According to E!Online, Diego Luna, who co-stars with Jonathan in Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights, will be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America 2003 on October 23 at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach. The show will air live on MTV Latin America and MTV2.

HE'S ALIVE! Seriously, we haven't had any news for such a long time, I was beginning to wonder if Jonathan was still around...LOL

According to his website however, he booked the lead - Alan - in another movie!!! It's called Riding the Bullet and is based on a short story by none other than Stephen King! It will be directed by Mick Garris who has helmed quite a few Stephen King adaptations including Sleepwalkers, and the mini TV series The Stand and The Shining. Oh btw, it's co-produced by a German production company!!!

Here is what Amazon says about the original story:

"The story is vintage King. Narrator Alan Parker, 21, learns that his beloved mother has had a stroke and hitchhikes through rural Maine to see her. On the way he's picked up first by a horrid old man, then by someone far more awful: a dead young man who offers him a terrible choice. The simple, potent prose skims along spurred by high suspense. The atmospherics roil like a classic nightmare: a moonlit graveyard, howling wind, rising mist; but King spins them with a wicked modern touch--the dead man drives a Mustang, and as the corpse pulls on a cigarette, Alan sees "little trickles of smoke escape from the stitched incision on his neck." When Alan makes his choice, the story deepens as King taps horror fiction's particular ability to illuminate the terror of the human condition."

Now I know why I couldn't find ANY news regarding his other project
In other news from Jackson-Brothers.com, filming of his feature Heart of Summer, previously scheduled to start this July, has been pushed back to the end of the year and leading lady Evan Rachel Wood was replaced with actress and singer Hilary Duff in the process (don't know if that's a good thing or not...).

First, let's celebrate the launch of the new part of this website - the Fan Art!
Please join me in collecting a wide variety of fan art including wallpapers, screensavers, banners, whatever humanly possible - since I obviously can't do this alone (also to guarantee some sort of variety) please submit your own work! I will give credit of course!
Send your work to: anya@starseek.de

Since Jonathan is busy with his new baby and also filming his new movies, I don't really have any real "news" for you...except for one little tidbit. I probably wouldn't have published it, weren't it for one little thing: Last week Jonathan was seen (twice!) at a movie theater in Vancouver, WA where he attended the movie Open Range with his wife Lisa and his brother Richard - apparently he was there to cheer on his Havana Nights: Dirty Dancing 2 costar Diego Luna who plays one of the leads!

Conflicting reports about Jonathan's Twilight Zone episode - I've heard the show has been cancelled and the last episodes will not be shown. Going to UPN online I found a trailer for the upcoming 2 episodes but in their weekly schedule, it's not listed. TV GUIDE Online lists the episode for May 21st...

7 may 2003

Found at E!Online:
EVERYBODY SALSA! Patrick Swayze joining the Dirty Dancing sequel Havana Nights currently shooting in Puerto Rico, according to Fox News.

22 april 2003

UPN surprisingly re-scheduled their programming last Wednesday - meaning Jonathan's episode of The Twilight Zone did NOT air. I hear it's currently scheduled to air on May 21 (but that's not set in stone yet) - keep your eyes open!!!

13 april 2003

Jonathan's Twilight Zone episode, entitled 'Sunrise', will be shown on Wednesday, April 16 at 9pm on UPN - which means THIS WEEK!!!!!! Don't miss it!!!

:: Jonathan Jackson plays an anthropology student who embarks on a treasure hunt with some buddies on UPN's THE TWILIGHT ZONE on Wednesday, April 16, at 9 p.m. ::

Jonathan has landed yet another role! He will play a music student in New York in the Newline Cinema produced Heart of Summer starring Evan Rachel Wood (Once & Again). Filming is scheduled to start in New York City in July. Read news here.

Havana Nights is scheduled to be released on Valentine's Day weekend in 2004. Read current news here - BTW, that movie is the reason Jonathan couldn't be at his dad's concert because filming started on March 18 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Btw, Lisa is due in June! :-)

14 march 2003

Jonathan has landed another role! He will play the romantic lead in the independent western Six Wire Winter, also featuring Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. This movie takes place in the 1960s...

11 march 2003

As you might guess from the animation to the right - I have updated the Tuck page with DVD captures :-)

Jonathan landed 2 new acting gigs: a guest appearance on The Twilight Zone and one of the lead roles (James) in the Miramax movie Havana Nights, about Salsa dancing in Cuba! Congrats!!! By the way, Havana Nights is the (kinda unofficial/official) sequel to Dirty Dancing!!! Read about it here or here.

Jonathan's Dad Rick has announced a date for his second Concert from the Heart - March 29th in Vancouver, WA again.
